Julius’ practice includes work from both local government and private clients at all stages of the planning and environmental approval process. He has acted for clients from a wide range of industry sectors including property development, tourism and hospitality, infrastructure, mining and heavy industry in respect of planning, subdivision and heritage approvals, regulatory and environmental compliance. He has conducted numerous SAT proceedings and appeals to the Supreme Court.
Julius has also acted on a number of major redevelopment projects for local governments including the King’s Square redevelopment for the City of Fremantle ($220M), Civic Triangle sale and redevelopment for the City of South Perth ($300M), City of Joondalup city-centre office and hotel development ($150M) and the Bentley redevelopment for the City of Canning, amongst others. He also advised the Town of Victoria Park and LandCorp in relation to their joint proposal for the redevelopment of the Victoria Park town centre.
He has acted on land resumption/compensation matters on behalf of local governments acquiring authorities, as well as for landowners affected by the taking and injurious affection of land.
Julius provides advice to clients on assessments, licencing and approvals under the Environmental Protection Act 1986 (WA), contaminated sites and remediation under the Contaminated Sites Act 2003 (WA), as well as environmental audits and compliance programs.
